Dear Parents, Carers and Staff
It is hard to believe how much of our everyday lives has changed since Moorfield returned after the Christmas Holidays.
In just over half a term, everyday life as we know it has been turned on its head and will be seemingly disrupted for many months to come. I can only thank you for all your efforts so far, from keeping the Children singing ‘Happy Birthday’ whilst washing their hands, to the hard and constant work that the staff are doing to manage and make the best of an ever changing daily routine within school.
We are living through unprecedented circumstances, the likes of which have not been seen for generations. It is apparent through news & social media that everyone has an opinion as to ‘who’ should be doing ‘what’ and ‘when’; but as a school, we have to act when we are instructed to do so by the authorities. Therefore, Mrs Herbert, the senior management team, myself and my fellow Governors will continue to liaise every day, as we have done for several weeks now, to continually monitor the advice given by Government, NHS and ISI/OFSTED in terms of what we should be doing as a school.
Please be reassured that your children are in the best possible hands when at Moorfield. A normal daily routine in a safe familiar environment is what we are providing.
We are all in the same situation and as adults / parents we must continue to be vigilant and mindful so as not to cause our young children any worries during what is becoming a very worrying situation for us as grown-ups.
I hope that you all keep well and safe, and even though it looks increasingly likely that some of our favourite annual events at school may be postponed or even cancelled this year, I look forward to seeing you all very soon once we are through this difficult period.
