I hope you are all well and had a great half term break.
The Governors held their AGM meeting last week when many topics were discussed. In summary; the refurbishment plans for the school are coming along very well and we should have information back from our architects this week so that we can decide on a priority list and schedule for the work. The basic plan is open up space in the building for more learning space for our growing classes. We will keep you posted !
We also had representation at the Ilkley Parking Proposals meeting last Thursday where we listened and then expressed the views of the school. Thank you to those parents who also attended and expressed their opinions also. We are planning some proposals of our own to open up negotiations with the council to hopefully come to some agreement as to how things can work outside school in the future.
As we promised last summer, the plan to reinstate the Library this summer is going ahead which will bring back that premium space into the centre and heart of the school building.
I look forward to seeing your class PTA representatives at this week’s Parents Forum. Please remember to get any questions to your class rep in time for Thursday evening.
I am also delighted to announce that we have appointed Mr Ian Findlay to join the team at Moorfield. Ian comes to us, having recently retired from Bradford Grammar School. He will be responsible for School Compliance and Regulation, ensuring that policies and procedures are all maintained and current. I am delighted to have him join our team.
As always, I will try and keep you updated as to the progress of various aspects that we are dealing with.
With kind regards
Please remember that the Governors are always contactable should you need to get in touch for any reason (at Malton@MoorfieldSchool.co.uk)
