What a pleasure to be writing 'Meet the Head' to you all as the new head teacher of Moorfield School. This is a very proud moment for me and one which I have been anticipating for sometime. As you would imagine, I have taken over a school which has been left in very fine fettle by my predecessor. Mrs Crossley will be a very difficult act to follow and I am aware of all that she has done for the school during her time here and of her absolute commitment to the values that makesMoorfield the school that it is. It was these same values and the way in which they are held dear at the heart of the school that attracted me to the post and I look forward to continuing her work and holding true to these ideals.
I have greatly enjoyed getting to know the staff over the past few days and in talking to them, their commitment and love of the school has really shone through. I now look forward to the pleasure of getting to know you and your children and to seeing the school filled with life after the summer break. I hope that the children have had wonderful holidays and are feeling refreshed and happy to see all their friends in the welcoming atmosphere of school as well as seeing what exciting opportunities their teachers have in store for them over the coming weeks.
I am of course not the only new arrival at the school this term. We are also joined by Mrs Debbie Firth who will be joining the office team in place of Mrs McMullen and Mrs Lynn Hewitt who will be working as part of the Senior 6 team alongside Mrs Turner- Thompson. In Nursery 1 and 2 we are joined by Mrs Sue Williamson and Miss Dotty Martin.
As well as this we welcome 12 new children into school.
Mr Paul Baddeley
