Last term, our Moorfield team rescued an injured hedgehog and took her to the wonderful Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue, where she was found to be expecting four hoglets!
Last night, we were delighted to release three of those hoglets back into the wild. A heartwarming result made possible by quick action, care and compassion. At Moorfield, caring for our community includes the wildlife we share it with.
A gentle reminder to always check hedgerows, bushes and undergrowth before strimming or mowing- just a few extra moments can save a life.
Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue is a charity that has supported Moorfield many times, doing incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating local hedgehogs. If you can, please consider supporting them through donations, volunteering or sharing their work. We’re so grateful for the happy ending they helped create. 🦔

Blink and you’ll miss it… from Reception adventures to Senior Six leavers, where did the time go?
Those little faces have now flown the nest, but looking back reminds us what childhood at Moorfield is truly about: laughter, friendship, mud, big imaginations and quiet moments of unhurried growth. Even through the uncertainty of COVID and learning from home, their spirit never dimmed.
