About Us
Moorfield School prides itself on its academic excellence and friendly, caring atmosphere.
It has a strong ‘family’ feel and lays particular emphasis on
consideration for others both in and beyond the school community. Independence and
individuality are encouraged and confidence nurtured. High standards of literacy and
numeracy are the academic bedrock enabling all pupils to enter well-respected senior
schools at 11+. Success is also achieved in music, art, drama and sport, with pupils
participating in a wide variety of local events. An all-round broad curriculum is
followed with specialist teaching in small classes.
Excellent facilities include a purpose-built nursery unit, which gives children a seamless
education from rising 3 years, and a fully equipped IT suite and many specialist subject
rooms. A full range of extra-curricular activities enables each child to develop their
interests;
pre and after school care help busy families make the most of each day. Moorfield is an
Education Charitable Trust for pupils aged 2 to 11 and a full member of IAPS. Accommodated
in a large house, the school is situated in a beautiful setting on the edge of Ilkley Moor.
