Parents' Association

Read

The primary aim of the Moorfield Parents’ Association is to provide an open and friendly forum for parents and children to enjoy one another’s company in a relaxed way. In the past year we have met in the dales to have walks round Swinsty Reservoir on a Sunday afternoon and in the summer we had a Sunday morning of rounders at Bolton Abbey followed by a picnic and splashing in the river.

Parents have been generous in their efforts to provide extra fun for Moorfield pupils and the summer Beach Party and Hallowe’en discos are always well attended. The Christmas Fair is a highlight of the year with a Santa’s grotto and a multitude of exciting stalls and activities.

Each class has a parent representative on the committee but more volunteers are always welcome to help with events. It’s a great way to make a positive contribution to the school community. Serving interval drinks at the school play and mulled wine at the carol service is much appreciated by parents and staff.

Money raised recently has been spent on a digital projector with electronic screen, and a new sound system for the school hall, a sixth inter-active whiteboard and some treats for the EYFS.

Moorfield Birthday Ball

The school is 80 years old in September, which calls for celebration. The date is set, the venue is booked and a fantastic swing band will be helping us to dance the night away. I hope that all Moorfield parents will come and make it a night to remember. You can book a whole table by inviting friends or simply send in your own names and we’ll sort a table for you. The fun-loving and enthusiastic committee assure they will not be pressing you for money all evening – rather using the excuse of being 80 years as an excuse for a party. Don’t delay – Moorfield Old Girls, parents of girls who have left, everyone is welcome – just download the form or phone the school for more information.

Booking Form (pdf download) Please fill in and send to the school with your cheque, thank you.
