Form 4

Welcome to Form Four
I can’t believe it’s the Summer Term already, and what a busy term it will be!
- In English, F4 will learn how to write a newspaper report and how to structure an argument using persuasive language. They will also write poetry in various forms, including haiku and cinquain.
- Mathematical work will focus on data handling, fractions, decimals and our continued understanding of the four rules of number. Our ability to handle data will also be developed through ICT.
- We will continue our book character masks in art, so remember to collect all the bits and pieces you need to finish these. The Anglo Saxons topic in history will be completed before moving on to the Vikings. Remember those projects need to be completed before half term.
- Finally, in RE, we will visit the Hindu temple in Bradford and find out about Hindu beliefs and practices.
- In Science we will looking at our shoes and also be puzzling out how to give an elephant a bath.... There is a connection! Habitats is the big summer topic. We will dive into the oceans to study coral reefs. Bring your snorkel! You will also sharpen your house selling skills as an estate agent for some very fussy clients...
- Weather permitting, there should be plenty of fieldwork in geography. We will devise questionnaires and use them to find out what people really think about their local area. A taste of chocolate might be necessary as we study the issues surrounding fair trade....
The weekly tables tests will be on a Friday as usual, but I may increase the pace a little, so keep practising!
